Meaning & context

Literally meaning “no luck.” Ssagaji (싸가지) comes from ssaksu (싹수) meaning “a good omen” or “luck” and eobda (없다) simply means “there is none.” In a sense, it suggests that one without manners will have no luck and therefore no basis for a future. It is often used before a swear word such as SOB and has the connotation of a jerk, an ass or a douchebag. Synonyms: 재수없다 [jae-su-eob-da] karma’s a bitch (it will get you); 버릇없다 [beo-reut-eob-da] impudent fool; 싹수가 없다 [ssak- eob-da] a certain failure
