Get your upstart hand off of me! 만먹다 [man-meok-da]give lip

만먹다 [man-meok-da] to give lip; not show respect to elders

The meaning comes from the expression, matmeokda (맞먹다) meaning to be equal, which is actually pronounced manmeokda. When combined with man (만) from manmanhee (만만히) meaning negligently or slightingly, and to eat from meokda (먹다) as in eating your words or leaving off a polite ending, this indicates using disrespectful language.
